Liverpool and Chelsea have reportedly joined a growing list of clubs interested in signing Reading attacker Michael Olise in 2021.

The 18-year-old has scored twice and registered three assists in 10 appearances for the Royals this season and is widely regarded as one of the best young talents outside of the Premier League.

Arsenal, Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers were all linked with his services in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Chelsea have now joined the race for a player who only has just over 18 months left to run on his current deal.

Olise spent time with Chelsea during his youth career, while he also represented Manchester City before moving to Reading in 2016, ultimately signing a professional contract with the Championship side in July 2019.

The France Under-18 international, who has made 37 appearances in all competitions for his current side, is capable of playing in a number of different positions in the final third of the field.

Liverpool 'keen on Ajax defender Perr Schuurs'

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Ajax starlet Perr Schuurs following a defensive crisis at Anfield.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has already lost Virgil van Dijk to a potentially season-ending injury, while makeshift centre-back Fabinho limped off against FC Midtjylland in the Champions League in midweek.

As a result, Nathaniel Phillips deputised alongside Joe Gomez in Liverpool's win over West Ham United, but Klopp is believed to be eyeing up reinforcements as the Premier League champions look to defend their title.

According to The Mirror, Klopp was impressed by Schuurs's showing in Ajax's Champions League defeat to the Reds, and Liverpool will not hesitate to move for the 20-year-old in January.

However, the report also indicates that Liverpool will not be the only ones vying for Schuurs's signature, with the former Reds triallist gaining the attention of a number of top sides since breaking into the Ajax first team.

Schuurs is tied down to Ajax until the end of the 2021-22 season.
