Barcelona banned from unveiling Luis Suarez

Barcelona have been banned from unveiling new signing Luis Suarez.

It is understood that the Catalan outfit had hoped to unveil the former Liverpool forward to the media next week at a neutral venue as to adhere to the rules.

However, FIFA have blocked the Spanish club's attempts by insisting that the worldwide ban relates to "all football-related activity".

Spokeswoman Delia Fischer said in a statement: "The ban relates to all football-related activity. He cannot be in a football-related public event irrespective of the venue. He cannot even be involved in a football-related charity event."

Suarez picked up a four-month ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at this summer's World Cup.

It was the third biting incident that the Uruguay international has been involved in during his professional football career.
