Adam Bogdan: 'No point in me going on Liverpool's pre-season tour'

Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan says that there is "not much point" in him joining his Liverpool teammates in their pre-season tour in the USA as he wants to leave on loan.

Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has admitted that there is "not much point" in him travelling to the USA for the Reds' pre-season tour because the club "don't count on [him]".

The Hungarian struggled to dislodge Simon Mignolet from the number one spot last season, while Danny Ward was recalled from a loan spell at Aberdeen to become second choice.

Following the arrival of German shot-stopper Loris Karius from Mainz, Bogdan is not hopeful of his chances of featuring under Jurgen Klopp in the upcoming campaign, and is determined to find a loan club.

"Mignolet and Danny Ward will get a few weeks to rest after Euro 2016 so there is a strong chance I will go to the USA training camp," Bogdan told Goal Hungary.

"My goal is to get a loan deal as soon as possible. There is not much point going to the USA after my last half-year, plus the new arrival of a goalkeeper shows that they don't count on me.

"I want to rebuild my good form. I want to play games weekly and get back to the national team. The goal is to get loaned out. I could stay but I would need incredible luck or a lot of injuries to climb the ladder. I can get out of this situation by performing well somewhere else. Then if life allows it, return to Liverpool. I need to go to prove my worth."

Bogdan joined Liverpool from Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer last summer.
