Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has claimed that fellow Brazil international and Liverpool's number one Alisson Becker is currently the best stopper in world football.
Both Ederson and Alisson have been nominated for FIFA's The Best Goalkeeper award alongside Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The City stopper is behind Alisson when it comes to the number one spot for Brazil, although the Liverpool ace is currently on the sidelines with a calf injury.
Ederson has said that he sees his fellow countryman as being "one step ahead" of the rest of the competition.
"I think the three of us were the best, but I see Alisson one step ahead. He was great in the Premier League, won the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and had a great Copa America as well," Ederson told reporters.
"So I think whoever wins will be deserving and I'm happy for two Brazilian goalkeepers to reach this level. We all know the great period that Alisson is living. And I'm having a good time too."
Alisson has stepped up his recovery from the calf problem that he suffered on the opening night of the 2019-20 Premier League campaign, although it is still unclear when the 26-year-old will be fit to return to the field.
