Robbie Fowler: 'I want to become a football manager'

Robbie Fowler admits that he would like to become a football manager and believes that former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard is a "very good coach".

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has revealed that he would like to become a football manager and has described former teammate Steven Gerrard as a "very good coach".

Fowler, who played as a striker, has been working towards his UEFA pro licence, and admits that he found the process "enjoyable".

"When you do the pro licence course, you're treated more like an adult. The A and B are good, but the pro licence is brilliant. It really was enjoyable," Fowler told Soccer AM.

"The analogy I'd use is like going from fourth year seniors to fifth year seniors where the teachers just treat you a little bit older and a bit more like an adult. The pro licence was very good and I really enjoyed it.

"I want to be a manager and that's my end game. I miss the game and I've got plenty to give as well."

The 42-year-old was also asked about Gerrard, who is currently coaching the Liverpool Under-18s, and the 26-time England international replied: "To be fair, Steven is a very good coach and all the lads love him. He's got some good results as well."

Fowler scored 183 goals in total for Liverpool, 128 of which were scored in the Premier League, and earned the nickname "God" from the Anfield crowd.
