Liverpool's Jordan Henderson calls for consistency ahead of Tottenham clash

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson says that the club need to show more consistency.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has claimed that the team need to put in consistently strong performances ahead of Sunday's showdown against Tottenham Hotspur.

Jurgen Klopp's side were unbeaten in 14 Premier League games before they were stopped by Swansea City in a 1-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium. The Merseyside outfit failed to bounce back in the FA Cup as they were knocked out by West Bromwich Albion.

On Tuesday night, though, the players responded with a 3-0 thumping over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.

"We need to make sure that we put in performances like we did at Huddersfield on a regular basis," the Daily Mail quotes Henderson as saying. "The points difference doesn't matter. Spurs are a good side, a top side. But after Huddersfield, we should be full of confidence to go into that game and put in another good performance.

"Clean sheets are important for us. To get one at Huddersfield against a tough side, away from home, was very pleasing. We need to continue that mentality. Hopefully we can continue this for the remainder of the season."

Tottenham will head into the contest on the back of a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley.
