Jordan Henderson ready to deliver at Liverpool

Jordan Henderson is keen to "grasp the moment" and be judged as a first-team player at Anfield.

Jordan Henderson has said that he is keen to shake off his 'promising player' tag and be judged for his performances in the Liverpool first team.

The midfielder moved to Anfield from Sunderland 12 months ago for a fee of £20m.

Despite being tipped to enjoy a long and successful career, the 21-year-old is focused on the present.

He told The Mirror: "You have to grasp the moment in football. A lot of people tell me I have all my future ahead of me and I need to develop as a player.

"But you can't just always say that it's for the future. I can understand why people say it. The manager is just protecting me when he says that, but I want to be the best I can now. That's the way it should be.

"I want the pressure of having to deliver now. I might get injured or something might happen and I might never play again, so I've got to make the most of every game I play in. That's how I approach every match."

Henderson has scored one Liverpool goal in 29 appearances.
