Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: 'Defeat at Liverpool tough to take'

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits that his side's 1-0 loss to Liverpool was "tough to take".

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has admitted that his side's 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League was a bitter pill to swallow.

The Cherries boss said the result was "tough to take" but insisted that his players are learning lessons from their time in the Premier League.

"It is tough to take but we have to. We are learning tough lessons, the margins for success are small. It will be character building," he told BBC Sport.

Bournemouth defender Tommy Elphick had an early goal disallowed during the game, while Liverpool's winner was contentious due to a potential offside.

Addressing the controversy, Howe added: "I didn't say a lot to the officials. They have a hard job but I will speak to them privately. I want feedback on the decisions."

The result maintains Liverpool's 100% start to the Premier League season, while Bournemouth have lost both of their opening matches 1-0.
