Liverpool expect Glen Johnson to return in six weeks?

Liverpool are reportedly expecting Glen Johnson to be sidelined for six weeks as opposed to the 10-week layoff originally reported.

Liverpool are reportedly confident that full-back Glen Johnson will return to action in around six weeks' time, despite reports of a possible 10-week layoff.

It had been claimed that the England international would be sidelined for over two-and-a-half months after suffering an ankle injury during the Reds' 1-0 win over Manchester United on September 1.

However, it is believed that Johnson is recovering faster than expected and could return to manager Brendan Rodgers's team late next month, according to the Liverpool Daily Post.

Rodgers could use either young Andre Wisdom to fill Johnson's role against Swansea City on Monday or place traditional centre-back Mamadou Sakho in the position.
