Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dismisses talk of a "crazy" quadruple after Sunday's EFL Cup final victory over Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed it would be "crazy" to think about the prospect of a possible quadruple following Sunday's EFL Cup triumph.

The Reds defeated Chelsea on penalties at Wembley to secure their record-breaking ninth EFL Cup crown and first since seeing off Cardiff City from 12 yards in the 2011-12 edition.

Klopp's side also sit six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City with a game in hand and welcome Inter Milan to Anfield for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash boasting a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Liverpool will aim to advance to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup when Norwich City come to Anfield on Wednesday night, but Klopp was in no mood to discuss a possible quadruple in his pre-match press conference.

"No team in the history of English football ever won the quadruple, right? Because it's really difficult. We are not even close to thinking about any crazy stuff like that," Klopp told reporters.

"If people think we have a chance, they see it as a compliment but I don't see it as a compliment. We face a lot of really good football teams between now and the end of May."

Klopp also issued a reassuring injury update on Thiago Alcantara after the Spaniard sustained a hamstring problem in the warm-up at Wembley.
