Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has identified Kylian Mbappe as the player with the "brightest future" in world football amid speculation linking his side with a move for the Frenchman.

Mbappe has further enhanced his prodigious reputation this season with 30 goals and 17 assists in just 33 appearances across all competitions.

The 21-year-old has regularly been tipped to leave Paris Saint-Germain since joining the club in 2017, with Real Madrid and Liverpool two of the teams repeatedly touted as possible destinations.

Reports last month suggested that Klopp had called Mbappe's father over a possible move, and he has now tipped the World Cup winner, as well as another Liverpool-linked winger in Jadon Sancho, as the brightest prospects in football.

When asked whether he would like to coach Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Sergio Aguero, Klopp told beIN Sports: "Where is Neymar on that list? Where is [Robert] Lewandowski on that list?

"There are so many good players out there, and they are all really good. I had Lewandowski. Mbappe has the biggest future. We can speak about Jadon Sancho as well, so they're all coming up."

Mbappe has been awarded the Ligue 1 Golden Boot after the division was cancelled early due to the coronavirus pandemic, pipping Wissam Ben Yedder to the award despite scoring the same number of goals.
