Jurgen Klopp pleased with "well-deserved" Liverpool win at Crystal Palace

Jurgen Klopp is pleased to have seen his Liverpool side come through a "difficult and intense" test to win 2-1 at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight with his Liverpool side coming through a "difficult and intense" test to win 2-1 at Crystal Palace.

The Reds fell behind to Luka Milivojevic's 13th-minute penalty, which was given after Loris Karius brought down Wilfried Zaha.

Liverpool were back on level terms just after the break through Sadio Mane, while Christian Benteke spurned several chances to restore the Eagles' lead.

Mohamed Salah then struck with six minutes left at Selhurst Park to give the visitors all three points in a fiercely-fought Premier League contest.

"Maximum credit to my players," Klopp told Sky Sports News. "It's very difficult after the international break because we are all used to a specific training intensity and then the players go away to different teams.

"You saw it was difficult and really intense today with the atmosphere as it was, but in the end I think it was really well deserved. We got two wonderful goals after a tough start.

"I think the moment the ball passes the defender you see it is Mo and feel good. It was a very cool finish and long may that form continue."

Liverpool host Manchester City in their Champions League quarter-final first leg in midweek before taking on Everton in Saturday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
