Jurgen Klopp refuses to confirm whether Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius will start

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refuses to confirm whether Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius will start in goal against Hull City this weekend.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has refused to confirm who will start in goal in this weekend's Premier League match against Hull City at Anfield.

Simon Mignolet has been the number one choice since his arrival on Merseyside from Sunderland in 2013, but he now faces competition from Loris Karius.

The German shot-stopper, who joined the Reds from Mainz 05 in the summer transfer window, made his debut in midweek's 3-0 win over Derby County in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Karius was made to wait for his Liverpool bow due to suffering a hand injury during pre-season.

When asked by reporters who will play in goal this weekend, Klopp said: "Now's not the place to announce lineups because I never did it, but of course we have to think about it in a very positive way.

"I was never a goalkeeper, my father was a goalkeeper, so I've a little bit of experience with goalkeepers. Obviously it's a little bit different to changing a midfielder player or something like this.

"It's a decision when I do it, it doesn't mean we will go like this for the next five years or something. It's a decision at a very high level because I'm really happy with both of them. There's nothing to say about this here but as always when I decide for the next game it's a decision for one player and not against another player. You'll have to wait and see."

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions.
