Jurgen Klopp vows to make Liverpool team play at "full throttle"

New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that his team will play at "full throttle", but with a "big heart".

Liverpool's new manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he intends to make his new team play at "full throttle", but with a "big heart".

The German coach, who won two Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund during a seven-year managerial spell at the club, was officially appointed as Brendan Rodgers's successor last night.

Klopp, who has previously been linked to Manchester United and Manchester City, is said to have signed a three-year deal worth around £7m a year, making him the highest-paid manager in Liverpool's history.

"Winning is important but so is how you win and how you play the game," Klopp told the club's official website. "I believe in a playing philosophy that is very emotional, very fast and very strong. My teams must play at full throttle and take it to the limit every single game.

"It is important to have a playing philosophy that reflects your own mentality, reflects the club and gives you a clear direction to follow. Tactical of course, but tactical with a big heart."

Klopp's first game in charge will be against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on October 17.
