Steve Nicol wants Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Ex-Liverpool defender Steve Nicol wants Jurgen Klopp to replace Brendan Rodgers as manager next season.

Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has called for the club's owners to move for Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Klopp announced his decision to step down from his role as Borussia Dortmund coach at the end of the season, and Nicol thinks that the BVB boss would be the ideal man to replace Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

The ex-Reds defender told ESPN: "Here's the bottom line: if there's nobody better than Rodgers available then he stays. The problem is Mr. Klopp is available, he should be there [at Anfield]."

Klopp recently played down speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
