Dr Steve Peters: 'Working with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is magic'

Psychologist Dr Steve Peters describes working with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as "magic".

Dr Steve Peters has hailed Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as the club try to clinch their first league title since 1990.

The psychologist has been working closely with the Merseyside outfit, who currently have a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with three games left to play.

Peters, who will join the England squad in Brazil for this summer's World Cup, has previously worked with former British cycling coach Sir Dave Brailsford, to whom Peters has likened Rodgers.

"[He's] similar to Dave Brailsford," Peters told the Radio Times. "Very psychologically minded, very challenging. He wants to make sure he's got it right. He will question what I do, engage with it.

"To me, it is just magic to work with somebody like that. You work as a team again, and I can't tell him what to do. He will say to me, 'What do you suggest? What do you recommend?'"

Liverpool will play Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in their final games of the campaign.
