Claudio Ranieri: 'Leicester City deserved to beat Liverpool'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri believes that his side deserved their 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has insisted that his side deserved their 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the King Power Stadium this evening.

Jamie Vardy netted a second-half brace to make it 18 league goals for the season and keep the Foxes three points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

It took a stunning strike from the England international to open the scoring, but Ranieri believes that his side were good value for the points.

"We deserved to win. We had three chances in the first half. They had one. Second half we had two good chances and scored both," he told the club's official website.

"I'm so pleased with my players because we pressed so hard against a very good team. Vardy's first goal was amazing.

"We're in good condition. Now it's important we recover our energy because we must play at high intensity against Manchester City."

Leicester's next two matches see them travel to face Manchester City and Arsenal.
