Martin Skrtel hails Liverpool's "perfect performance" in derby win

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel hails his side's "perfect performance" in last night's 4-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has praised his teammates after they secured an emphatic 4-0 win over Everton in the 222nd Merseyside derby.

The Reds now have a three-point cushion in fourth place, while also residing six points below Premier League leaders Arsenal.

"It's a great feeling," Skrtel told the Liverpool Echo. "This was a very important game for us with only one point separating the teams.

"We knew before the game it wouldn't be easy because Everton have been in great form, but we wanted the three points so much and we're always confident when we play at home. It was the perfect performance from us. Everyone worked so hard. We had great support from the fans and that really helped."

Last night's win was Liverpool's biggest derby triumph for 32 years.
