Preview: Liverpool vs. Everton

Sports Mole previews the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton.

Liverpool and Everton lock horns in the Merseyside derby on Tuesday night with both sides well placed in the Premier League table.

Only one point separates the rivals, but Everton have failed to win in the last seven derbies.

When the two teams met in November, Daniel Sturridge grabbed a late equaliser in a 3-3 draw.

Liverpool are in good form, winning four out of five matches, and have lost just once at home this season.

The Reds beat beat Bournemouth 2-0 on Saturday to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup, but manager Brendan Rodgers will be eager to stay in touch with the three teams above them in the league.

Rodgers could welcome back Raheem Sterling, while one of Jon Flanagan or Martin Kelly is likely to start at right-back.

Simon Mignolet is also likely to return to the side, but Lucas Leiva, Jose Enrique and Daniel Agger are still out.

Meanwhile, the Toffees are unbeaten in their last six matches, but have not beaten Liverpool since October 2010.

Everton also won through to the next round of the FA Cup at the weekend, seeing off Stevenage.

However, during the encounter Bryan Oviedo suffered a double fracture of his left leg, which could see him ruled out for the rest of the season.

New signing Lacina Traore could be included, while Seamus Coleman and Steven Pienaar will have to shake off minor knocks to play.
