Daniel Sturridge admits selfishness during Merseyside derby

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge admits that he was selfish during his side's 4-0 home win against Everton on Tuesday.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has admitted that he deserved to be shouted at by his teammate Luis Suarez during the Merseyside derby on Tuesday.

The England international was given an earful by Suarez for not passing him the ball when he was in a better position on one occasion.

"When I missed that chance, Luis was obviously fuming with me, and I don't blame him," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I was fuming with myself too. I think everyone was fuming with me.

"You could see I was still disappointed when I came off because obviously I was also disappointed with missing a penalty at the Kop end.

"At the same time we have won 4-0 at home against Everton, so really I shouldn't be too down on myself."

Sturridge scored twice for Liverpool as they got the better of Everton 4-0 at home.
