Kolo Toure accepts blame for "crazy" Liverpool error

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure takes ownership of his error which led to West Bromwich Albion's equaliser in Sunday's 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns.

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has taken ownership of his "crazy" error which led to West Bromwich Albion's equalising goal in the 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns on Sunday.

The veteran centre-half played the ball straight to Victor Anichebe before the striker slotted past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to cancel out Daniel Sturridge's first-half strike.

Nevertheless, the former Arsenal and Manchester City stalwart insists that he will bounce back from the mistake by learning from the experience.

"It was a terrible pass by me," he told The Liverpool Echo. "You have to make the right decisions and I took a bad decision.

"I made a very bad pass. I don't know why I passed the ball into the middle of the pitch, it was crazy. It's hard to take, especially for me, because we played well.

"When you make mistakes it's important to bounce back and play better. I've made a few mistakes in my life and I'm still learning every day. I will learn from this."

The fault meant that the Reds saw their lead over fifth-placed Everton in the Premier League table reduced to just two points in the race to Champions League qualification.
