West Ham United have secured their first win at Anfield since 1963 in a 3-0 victory over Liverpool.

Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble and Diafra Sakho ended Liverpool's unbeaten start to the Premier League season by scoring on Merseyside this afternoon.

However, the contest did not end without controversy as Philippe Coutinho and Noble were sent off by referee Kevin Friend in the second half.

Below, Sports Mole has given ratings out of 10 to every player who performed in the match.

Goal

Simon Mignolet: After keeping three clean sheets on the trot, Mignolet suffered a goalkeeper's nightmare by conceding three goals this afternoon. The Belgian was not close to preventing any of them. (4/10)

Defence

Nathaniel Clyne: Struggled to make a significant impact in both defence and attack this afternoon. Was unable to form a decent understanding with Roberto Firmino going forward and failed to show much strength when tracking back. (4/10)

Martin Skrtel: At fault for the first goal as his weak headed clearance went straight into the feet of Aaron Cresswell. Made some important tackles as the game went on, but the damage was done. (4/10)

Dejan Lovren: His worst performance of the season so far. Lost the ball in his own half prior to conceding the second goal and looked shaky throughout the match. Could have scored at the near post, but squandered the effort and sent the ball flying over the bar. (2/10)

Joe Gomez: Received plenty of plaudits for his performance against Arsenal, but lacked authority this afternoon. Lost Lanzini for the first goal and struggled to find quality going forward. (4/10)

Midfield

Emre Can: Hauled off at half time by Brendan Rodgers after giving the ball away numerous times in dangerous areas. The German Under-21 international was overrun in the middle of the park. (4/10)

Lucas Leiva: Expected to stay at Anfield this season, despite being heavily linked with a move away before Tuesday's deadline. Unable to control the midfield and allowed Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang to dominate. (5/10)

James Milner: Did not get into the box enough to cause trouble, but worked hard on and off the ball throughout the match. (6/10)

Attack

Philippe Coutinho: The Brazilian has emerged as Liverpool's star player this season, but he was easily muscled out by West Ham this afternoon and is facing a suspension after getting sent off for a second bookable offence. (4/10)

Roberto Firmino: Showed glimpses of flare early in the first half, and could have opened the scoring, but his effort clattered off the post. The summer signing faded as the game went on and struggled to link up well with his teammates. (5/10)

Christian Benteke: Showed some decent touches, but West Ham's defenders kept him relatively quiet. Did not receive much service as the game went on. (5/10)

Substitutes

Alberto Moreno: Put in some decent tackles after coming on for the second half, but had no significant impact on the game. (5/10)

Jordon Ibe: Yet to find his rhythm this season, and could not affect the result when he entered the field of play. (5/10)

Danny Ings: Had some decent touches when he was brought on to give Benteke assistance, but it appears as though he needs time to strike up an understanding with the Belgian, (6/10)

Goal

Darren Randolph: Had very little to do throughout the match as Liverpool had just one shot on target. Looked in control of his box when called upon. (7/10)

Defence

James Tomkins: Came into the side to replace suspended Carl Jenkinson and did a good job helping the back line. (7/10)

Winston Reid: Marshalled the defence and thwarted Liverpool's attacking intent when they entered West Ham's half. Looked comfortable throughout the game and stopped Benteke and Coutinho from causing problems. (9/10)

Angelo Ogbonna: Failed to impress Slaven Bilic against Bournemouth as he was substituted just half an hour into the game last weekend, but he settled at Anfield well and did a good job in keeping the Hammers compact. (7/10)

Aaron Cresswell: Bounced back from his poor performance against Bournemouth by causing trouble down the flanks. He also laid the ball off to Lanzini for the opening goal. (8/10)

Midfield

Pedro Obiang: A strong presence in midfield and worked well with Kouyate in helping his teammate drive forward. Closed down his opponents well when off the ball. (7/10)

Mark Noble: A mixed day for the midfielder as he doubled West Ham's lead in the first half, but was given a straight red for a lunging challenge on Danny Ings. If West Ham were not already leading at the time, Noble's dismissal could have been costly. (5/10)

Cheikhou Kouyate: Always looked threatening when making driving runs from midfield, but also showed his defensive qualities by putting in some well-timed tackles. (7/10)

Attack

Manuel Lanzini: Showed plenty of energy from the kickoff and was rewarded with a goal inside the first three minutes. A nuisance to Liverpool's defence throughout, particularly Dejan Lovren, who lost possession to the Argentine in the lead-up to the second goal. (8/10)

Dimitri Payet: Hobbled off in the second half, but was able to create chances up front when cutting inside from the left. He was also disciplined when helping the Hammers stay tight in defence. (7/10)

Diafra Sakho: Rounded off West Ham's victory with a third goal in added time, which was no less than he deserved after causing Liverpool plenty of problems in attack. (8/10)

Substitutes

Matt Jarvis: He came on to replace Payet when the attacker hobbled off with a knock and was able to contribute to West Ham's compact shape. (6/10)

Reece Oxford: The teenager helped the team stay tight after Noble was sent off in the second half. (6/10)

Josh Cullen: Had little impact in an attacking sense, but did his job in assisting the team as they maintained their lead in the second half. (6/10)
