Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp might have to work around the absence of Alexis Mac Allister for Saturday's Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Argentine midfielder sustained a cut to the knee during Wednesday's 2-0 win over Sheffield United, although he managed to complete 59 minutes of the encounter before being withdrawn.

Klopp revealed that Mac Allister's wound required stitches to close, and while he has not been definitively ruled out of Saturday's game just yet, it would be surprising to see him risked with Ryan Gravenberch available.

The Reds have also lost centre-back Joel Matip for the remainder of the season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, while none of Diogo Jota (muscle), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), Thiago Alcantara (hip) and Andrew Robertson (shoulder) are fit to return just yet.

With Matip sidelined for months, Ibrahima Konate will now regain his status as Virgil van Dijk's first-choice partner, and the duo could once again protect Alisson Becker, who has returned to training from a thigh problem and is primed to displace Caoimhin Kelleher.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's spot on the right-hand side of the rearguard is safe, but Joe Gomez was fortunate not to be punished for a first-half mistake against Sheffield United and is at risk of dropping out for Kostas Tsimikas.

With Gravenberch surely being deployed in place of Mac Allister, Wataru Endo could make his second successive Premier League start in the number six position, while Dominik Szoboszlai is a shoo-in.

Cody Gakpo's inclusion in the first XI at Bramall Lane was not too big a shock given the hectic schedule, but Darwin Nunez - who set up Szoboszlai's strike in midweek - should now return to the final third alongside Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Endo, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
