Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

With their Champions League hopes effectively being killed off by Barcelona following Wednesday's 3-0 first-leg defeat, Liverpool are now left focusing on the Premier League.

The Reds still have the second leg of their semi-final with Barca to come next Tuesday, but Saturday's trip to Newcastle United takes priority for Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool are one point adrift of Manchester City with two games to go, and they can reclaim top spot with three points at St James' Park as City are not in action until Monday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their match with Newcastle.


Adam Lallana

Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: May 4 (vs. Newcastle)

Lallana has not featured in the squad since the end of March due to a muscular problem, missing out on the travelling party for the trip to Barcelona in midweek. Klopp has not yet ruled the midfielder out of the Newcastle game but he is unlikely to feature.


Naby Keita

Possible return date: Unknown

Keita was forced off the field in the first half of Liverpool's heavy loss at Camp Nou and is out of action until pre-season.
