Jurgen Klopp says that "it is possible" for Liverpool to still catch Manchester City, but only if the Citizens hit a bad run of form.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that "nobody else has a chance" of winning the Premier League title if Manchester City continue performing at the same level.

The Citizens are already eight points clear of closest challengers Manchester United and have a further six-point gap on Liverpool down in sixth.

City almost came unstuck for just the second time this season against Huddersfield Town at the weekend, though, relying on a fortunate Raheem Sterling goal in the final 10 minutes to earn them a 2-1 win in Yorkshire.

Klopp acknowledges just how tough it will be to stop the pacesetters, but has urged his players to be ready to capitalise on any sort of slip-up.

"I saw the game against Huddersfield - yes Manchester City deserved to win but it was not like Huddersfield could not have won," he told reporters.

"As long as they keep winning, nobody else has a chance. If they stop winning and other teams have their good moments, then they are pretty much each the same distance away from City, points wise.

"It is possible that you can get them still but I don't care about that for the moment because we want to have the next three [points], and the next three and the next three.

"If anybody struggles then you need to be there but not for us at the moment, we are too far away. If they keep on going like this then nobody has a chance, then it is already decided."

Liverpool drew 1-1 with champions Chelsea in their last outing and return to action on Wednesday evening with a trip to face Stoke City.
