AC Milan are reportedly considering a surprise January move for Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.

Fabinho only joined Liverpool from Ligue 1 outfit Monaco during the summer transfer window, with the midfielder costing the Reds in the region of £40m.

The 25-year-old has only made four Premier League appearances for Liverpool this season, however, and according to Corriere dello Sport, Italian giants Milan are preparing an ambitious January move.

Fabinho has featured in each of Liverpool's last four Premier League matches, but competition for places in Jurgen Klopp's first XI, particularly in the middle of the park, is fierce.

The South American made 233 appearances for Monaco ahead of a summer switch to the Premier League.
