Daniel Agger 'asks to leave Liverpool'

Daniel Agger tells Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave the Reds after losing his first-team place.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has reportedly told manager Brendan Rodgers that he wants to leave the club.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Reds, after making just 20 appearances in the Premier League last season.

According to The Mirror, Agger told Rodgers of his wish to leave following a dressing room exchange on the club's tour of America.

The report claims that the Danish international broke down and was consoled by his teammates, before being allowed to fly home.

Barcelona are thought to be the favourites for his signature, although his former club Brondby are also believed to be interested.
