Report: Arsenal line up Daniel Agger move

Arsenal reportedly weigh up a move for Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger.

Arsenal are reportedly lining up an ambitious swoop for Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger.

The Denmark international is said to be unsettled at Anfield after admitting that he was unhappy about his lack of game time last season.

Gunners defender Thomas Vermaelen is a reported target for Barcelona and Manchester United, and Arsene Wenger has identified Agger as the Belgian's replacement should he depart, according to The Sun.

Liverpool have added Dejan Lovren to their ranks this summer, making Agger's fight for regular first-team action even more difficult this coming term.

However, despite the Reds' strength in depth in the centre-back area, they are unlikely to be willing to discuss a move with their Premier League rivals.
