Fabio Borini will reportedly become Brendan Rodgers's first signing since becoming manager of Liverpool.

The forward has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield over the summer but was believed to have made a move to Roma.

However, according to BBC Sport the 21-year-old could be on his way back to England after spending much of his youth with Chelsea before a loan spell with Swansea City.

Borini recently stated that he was a Roma player, saying: "I am Roma."
