Cardiff City 'leading Nathaniel Clyne race'

Cardiff City are winning the race to sign Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne on loan, according to a report.

Cardiff City are reportedly winning the race to sign Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne on loan.

Clyne, 27, was Liverpool's first choice right-back between 2015 and 2017 but has only made seven Premier League appearances for the Reds since the start of last season.

The defender is widely expected to leave Anfield on loan during the January transfer window, and according to The Mirror, Cardiff are confident of signing the Englishman.

Fulham and Leicester City have also been credited with an interest in Clyne, who worked under Cardiff boss Neil Warnock at Crystal Palace.

Clyne's contract with Liverpool will expire at the end of next season.
