Forward Divock Origi reportedly decides to remain at Liverpool for the first half of the campaign in order to fight for a place in Jurgen Klopp's starting lineup.

Liverpool forward Divock Origi has reportedly decided to remain at Anfield for the first half of the season.

Origi is back at Liverpool after a disappointing loan spell at Wolfsburg, and the Premier League giants had been willing to sell the Belgium international for £27m before the end of the transfer window.

However, an offer meeting the club's valuation has not arrived and with Liverpool not willing to entertain loan bids, it has seemingly left Origi with a decision to make regarding his future.

According to the London Evening Standard, the 23-year-old has shown a preference to remain on Merseyside in an attempt to break into Jurgen Klopp's first-team squad.

Origi is yet to make an appearance during the current campaign, but the club's participation in the Champions League and EFL Cup could give the attacker an opportunity to impress at a time when less than two years remain on his contract.
