Robbie Fowler: 'Cesc Fabregas would be ideal for Liverpool'

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler claims that Cesc Fabregas would be the perfect signing for the club this summer.

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has claimed that Cesc Fabregas would be a great signing for the club this summer.

The Reds have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign the 27-year-old from Barcelona for a £30m fee.

Fowler believes that the Spain international would strengthen Liverpool's squad ahead of their Champions League campaign next season.

"Fabregas is a player I've always liked," he told talkSPORT. "When those kind of players become available you always want to sign them.

"Fabregas is a world recognised player and he would suit the Liverpool system."

Fabregas joined Barcelona from Arsenal in 2011.
