A deal to bring Georginio Wijnaldum to Barcelona from Liverpool is 95% done, according to a report.
The Netherlands international recently admitted that he would be "devastated" to leave Anfield, but a positive solution has not been reached over his contract, which expires in just over three months' time.
Wijnaldum has been tipped to head to Serie A, with Inter Milan supposedly taking an interest, but a reunion with Ronald Koeman at Barcelona is thought to be the most realistic option in the summer transfer window.
Now, Football Insider reports that the Catalan giants have offered the 30-year-old a contract, and the deal is 95% done as Wijnaldum seeks a move to his "dream" club.
With the prospect of Wijnaldum joining as a free agent in the summer, the report adds that Koeman has earmarked his compatriot as a top target for the cash-strapped Catalans, and the expectation is that the former Newcastle United man will leave Anfield when his deal runs out.
Wijnaldum remains one of Jurgen Klopp's first names on the teamsheet despite his uncertain contract situation, with the midfielder starting 26 Premier League games this term and finding the back of the net twice.
