John Aldridge: 'Liverpool must keep Pepe Reina'

Liverpool legend John Aldridge urges the club to keep Pepe Reina this summer.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge feels that the club must do their utmost to keep Pepe Reina this summer.

The goalkeeper has been a reported target for Barcelona for the majority of the season, but Aldridge thinks that the Reds must persuade the Spaniard to remain at Anfield.

"Reina has had a couple of indifferent years but over the course of this season he has started to get back to his best and he would be very difficult to replace," Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

"Reina underlined his importance to the club with the save he made from Aaron Hughes (in the 3-1 win at Fulham).

"Liverpool must hold on to to the Spaniard this summer."

Another report has claimed that Liverpool want Christian Tello in exchange for the stopper, who was signed from Villarreal in 2005.
