Yevhen Konoplyanka has turned down a move to Serie A side Roma in order to seal a switch to the Premier League.
The Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger had been poised to move to Liverpool last January before the deal collapsed at the final hour.
However, the Ukrainian international told his official Youtube channel that he has rejected the chance to join Roma, and revealed why he is looking to play in England instead.
Konoplyanka said: "Yes, Roma were interested in me, but I refused them. Perhaps they will be disappointed but that's life and that's football.
"Last time with Liverpool was different. I wanted to go there but the clubs could not agree terms.
"My goal as a child was to play in England. The leagues are stronger and I still want to try my hand there."
According to The Daily Express, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to resurrect a deal for the winger, who is out of contract at the end of the season, but Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be interested.
