Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on signing Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha, who only arrived at the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer.
The Reds bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Luis Diaz from Porto last week, but could further enhance their squad on deadline day, with Cunha being linked to Anfield.
Cunha has only managed to start three La Liga matches, with his other 14 appearances for Diego Simeone's side coming from the bench, but is believed to have been watched by Jurgen Klopp for some time.
Reports in Spain from AS claim that Liverpool are prepared to make a bid for the 22-year-old, with Klopp having monitored the striker since he moved to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin in January 2020.
After securing the signing of Diaz, should Liverpool make a successful coup for Cunha, then the Reds could allow Divock Origi to exit Merseyside, with Fiorentina and Atalanta BC showing interest in the Belgian forward.
Cunha has managed five goals and two assists in 23 appearances for Atletico Madrid in all competitions this season.
