Liverpool 'told to pay £40m for Ismaila Sarr'

Watford reportedly inform Liverpool that they will not sell Ismaila Sarr for any fee below £40m during the current transfer window.

Watford reportedly have no desire to cash in on Ismaila Sarr for anything below £40m.

Despite only being one year into a long-term contract at Vicarage Road, the Senegal international is on the market due to Watford's relegation from the Premier League.

With Jurgen Klopp keen to bring in quality backup for his established front three, the 22-year-old has emerged as a potential transfer target.

However, according to The Mirror, the Hornets are willing to keep hold of Sarr for their first season back in the Championship.

Targeting an instant return to the top flight, club officials allegedly see value in retaining the player's services unless an interested club meet their asking price.

Sarr contributed six goals and six assists during his first 12 months in English football.
