Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is open to the idea of spending 2018-19 out on loan, but he will wait before making a decision on his future.

Marko Grujic has admitted that he is unsure whether he will stay with Liverpool next season or spend the campaign out on loan.

The Serbia international, currently part of the Reds' tour of the United States, is a target for Premier League duo Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.

Having enjoyed a four-month spell on loan in South Wales last term, Cardiff remain the favourites to sign Grujic on a year-long deal, with Neil Warnock hopeful of striking an agreement in the next fortnight.

Grujic faces further competition for playing time at Anfield in 2018-19 following the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho, and the midfielder acknowledges that it may be best to ply his trade elsewhere for the time being.

"I will speak about my situation with the manager and Michael [Edwards] over the next few weeks," he told the Liverpool Echo. "After this tour we have a training camp in France. I will try to show my best and then we will see what happens.

"Everyone knows we bought two new midfielders, two great players and great guys. There are a lot of players in my position so we will see what happens in the next few weeks.

"Of course I would rather go somewhere to play rather than just stay here and sit on the bench and only play for the Under-23s. It's the decision of the club and what they decide is best for me I'll go along with.

"Training is good but for young players the most important thing is game time. I was very happy to play as much as I did for Cardiff. I felt really good. I played a lot of games and helped the team to win promotion."

Grujic featured 14 times for Cardiff in the second half of their promotion-winning campaign last time out.
