Crystal Palace reportedly join Cardiff City in the race to sign midfielder Marko Grujic on loan from Liverpool this summer.

Crystal Palace have reportedly entered the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic this summer.

Grujic has been heavily linked with a return to Cardiff City, where he spent last season on loan, and Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has already held talks with Liverpool about another year-long loan spell.

However, the Daily Mail reports that the newly-promoted South Wales outfit will face competition from Palace, who have emerged as late contenders for the Serbian's signature.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is understood to see Grujic as a potential replacement for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who spent last season on loan at Selhurst Park but has since returned to parent club Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is open to the idea of sending Grujic out on loan again to gather more first-team experience, with Premier League football expected to be hard to come by for the 22-year-old at Anfield this season following the arrivals of Naby Keita and Fabinho.

However, it would take a bid of at least £20m to prise Grujic away on a permanent basis, making the loan deal more appealing for both Cardiff and Crystal Palace.
