Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly stepped up his interest in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
Benitez is a big fan of the 30-year-old, whom he signed for the Reds in a £6m deal in 2005.
Reina could be surplus to requirements at Anfield following the £10m arrival of Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.
According to The Sun, Benitez has lodged a formal bid for the Spanish stopper, who has three years remaining on his current contract.
Reina has helped Liverpool win four club titles - the UEFA Super Cup in 2005, the FA Cup and the Community Shield in 2006, and the League Cup in 2012.
