Neco Williams 'in line for new five-year Liverpool deal'

Liverpool prepare to hand teenage defender Neco Williams a new and improved five-year contract, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly set to hand Neco Williams a new and improved five-year contract.

The 19-year-old made the breakthrough into the first team during the 2019-20 campaign, ultimately ending the season with 11 appearances in all competitions, including six in the Premier League.

According to Goal, Liverpool want to reward the teenager for his progress by handing him a contract until the summer of 2025, with the new deal expected to include an increase in wages.

As well as six outings in the league, Williams featured on four occasions in the FA Cup and once in the EFL Cup during the recent season.

Jurgen Klopp's side are also allegedly on the verge of completing a deal for Olympiacos defender Kostas Tsimikas as the English champions prepare for next term.

Meanwhile, Rhian Brewster will reportedly be given the chance to make the breakthrough next season, having impressed on loan at Swansea City in the Championship.
