Liverpool are reportedly hopeful of signing Marek Hamsik from Napoli in the January window.
The 27-year-old, who has been a regular scorer during his time in Naples, is expected to be available in the winter transfer window as Napoli attempt to revitalise their squad.
A number of European teams are said to be monitoring developments, but according to fichajes.net, Liverpool are the favourites to sign the Slovakian.
Hamsik managed just six goals for Napoli last season, having previously hit double figures in every campaign since moving from Brescia in 2007.
The attacker has also scored 11 times in 71 games for his country.
