Brendan Rodgers shies away from transfer speculation linking Liverpool with Daniel Sturridge and Thomas Ince.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has refused to be drawn on talk of a double January swoop for Daniel Sturridge and Thomas Ince.

The Reds have reportedly approached Chelsea and Blackpool respectively regarding the availability of both players, with Tangerines boss Michael Appleton revealing that their initial offer was below their asking price.

Rodgers told a press conference that he is interested in adding to his squad during the transfer window, but said that there are no developments just yet.

"If we can get talented young players, and talented young British players in here, then that will be fantastic for us," said the Northern Irishman. "The negotiations for any of that is taken place by the people above me and we'll conclude what we can as early as we can.

"I can tell you that our scouting network have been looking high and low for all sorts of talents to come in here and the minute we do bring anyone in, I will speak to you all day about them.

"But at this moment in time there's nothing to speak about, only the players that we have here."
