Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that if he can bring in some new players this summer, his side can challenge for a top-four place.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his side can push for a Champions League spot next season if they bring in the right players during the summer transfer window.

The Northern Irishman, who has been open about his desire to strengthen his squad, believes that new additions will help improve the Reds, who sit in seventh place, 11 points away from fourth with one game left to play.

"I think we can have an exciting season next year," Sky Sports News quotes Rodgers as saying.

"We can build towards that but we need more depth, we need some more [players] in the summer. If we can do that, we will be looking to make a real sustainable challenge next year for the top four."

Liverpool, who are 30 points behind Premier League champions Manchester United, will take on Queens Park Rangers in their final match at Anfield this Sunday.
