Tottenham Hotspur in Andros Townsend, Adam Lallana swap deal?

Liverpool target Adam Lallana could instead move to Tottenham Hotspur to link up with former Saints coach Mauricio Pochettino, according to reports.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly offer Andros Townsend to Southampton as they bid to beat Liverpool to the signature of Adam Lallana.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino enjoyed a strong relationship with Saints captain Lallana and, according to The People, the Argentine coach is keen to secure the 26-year-old's services.

Townsend is thought to have been deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane, and the 22-year-old could now be used a possible makeweight in any deal.

However, Lallana is said to favour a move to Merseyside, with Liverpool having reportedly upped their bid for the midfielder to £25m.

Meanwhile, Townsend's availability is also rumoured to be attracting interest from Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United.
