Luis Suarez move to Barcelona 'held up by Alexis Sanchez'

A report claims that the proposed transfer of Luis Suarez to Barcelona has been held up due to a number of clubs sounding out a move for Alexis Sanchez.

Luis Suarez's proposed move to Barcelona has reportedly been held up because Alexis Sanchez is wanted by a number of teams across Europe.

The Catalan giants were said to have agreed to meet the release clause in the striker's contract, with Chile star Sanchez moving in the opposite direction.

However, the Daily Mail claims that the 25-year-old is wanted by both Arsenal and Juventus among others, which could affect the transfer of Suarez.

The same report states that Barcelona will await Sanchez's decision before tabling a bid, which will be significantly higher than the £63m initially agreed if he opts against moving to Anfield.

Sanchez joined Barca in 2011, scoring 339 goals in 89 appearances for the club.
