The agent of Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir has claimed that Liverpool have been in touch over a possible move for his client in this summer's transfer window.
Cakir, 23, has made 23 appearances for his Turkish club during the 2018-19 campaign.
According to Erdi Kirkpinar, who represents the goalkeeper, Schalke 04 and Lille are interested in a summer move, but Champions League finalists Liverpool are also eyeing a swoop for the former Turkey Under-21 international.
"Every team have scouts and some of them are following Ugurcan's matches. Schalke haven't made an official offer for him," Kirkpinar told Ajansspor.
"I know Lille and Schalke are following him. Liverpool are also interested in him. Liverpool officials have talked with us, we had some contacts, but no official offer has come from them."
Jurgen Klopp's side are expected to sign a new stopper as back-up to Alisson Becker this summer, with current number two Simon Mignolet widely tipped to move on.
