West Bromwich Albion 'join race for Christian Benteke'

West Bromwich Albion reportedly enter the race to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, who has been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace.

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly entered the race to sign Christian Benteke from Liverpool this summer.

The 25-year-old is expected to leave Anfield during the current transfer window after manager Jurgen Klopp hinted that he was not involved in his first-team plans.

The Reds are holding out for a fee close to the £32.5m they paid for the Belgian last summer, although that price tag has so far been a sticking point in negotiations.

Crystal Palace have been heavily linked with Benteke throughout the window, but PA now claims that the Baggies are also interested in the striker.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is known to be in the market for a forward in order to allow Saido Berahino to leave the club, and last week saw a record £15m deal for West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho break down.
