Daniel Sturridge unfazed by World Cup pressure

Daniel Sturridge insists that he is unfazed by the pressure of replicating his Liverpool form for England in next month's World Cup.

Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he is unfazed by the pressure of replicating his Liverpool form for England in next month's World Cup.

The 24-year-old heads to Brazil on the back of a fine domestic season for the Reds in which his 21 Premier League goals helped achieve Champions League qualification.

However, Sturridge claims that he feels little expectancy on his shoulders to produce "something amazing" and insists that he is just excited about making his World Cup bow.

"I don't feel any pressure in terms of the task ahead because I feel that we have prepared for this," he told Sky Sports News.

"I am excited by it all. When you are young you always want these moments. This is my first World Cup.

It's just embracing it all, not about feeling any pressure to do something amazing. I just have to play my normal game."

The Three Lions kick off their campaign by facing the 2006 winners Italy on June 14.
