Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez accepts that Luis Suarez may not be as fit as he was for Liverpool during their Premier League campaign last season.
The La Celeste striker declared himself as "100%" fit for the game against England on Thursday, despite undergoing knee surgery at the end of May.
However, Suarez, who plundered 31 goals for the Reds last term, has not played since the final day of the Premier League season on May 11.
Tabarez told reporters: "[Suarez] has recovered very well, but if he plays we must consider possibility he's not as well as he was in the Premier League.
"Obviously a training session is not the same as a match."
Uruguay lost their first game 3-1 to Costa Rica on Saturday.
